Countryside Takeover Recap
WOW.
What a night. The memories of this show will stick with me forever. First reason was the energy in the building. I've always believed you can feel the difference between a "concert crowd" and a group assembled together for a night of entertainment, if that makes any sense. A concert crowd is a different breed, a different vibe, and this crowd had the juice. The energy was electric all night for a small town venue in the middle of nowhere. The staff at the Versailles Community Hall was excellent. Our sound technician, Dan Curtis, was a master at his craft, and all the artists delivered entertaining performances.
Second reason was getting the opportunity to play with a live band. This was a dream I've had for a long time and it was exhilarating to live out. Huge shoutout to my guys Nick Glover (Drums), Chris Fischer (Sax), John Bushen (Keys) and Maz (Bass) for being phenomenal at what they do. Truly couldn't have asked for a better group of guys to synergize and perform with.
We played a ten song set; starting with SLIP SOPRANO, ended with CANNOLI, and included two covers in the mix, Diablo by Mac Miller and Wonderwall by Oasis. A particularly sweet part of the performances was the awesome stage lighting. The legend TQ provided an excellent lighting set up that he controlled throughout the night, creating unique vibes for each set 🔥
Huge shoutout to Hunter Stewart & Genecist for kicking off the performances, and much love to the homie Just Kyle for all of the time, hard work, and energy invested in planning this event. As you may know, Kyle and I co-headlined the show; but we also planned and organized the event together as well.
If for whatever reason you missed the Countryside Takeover, you missed a damn good one. The venue was packed, cold ones were cracked, but will the boys ever be back?
Yes. The answer to that question is yes, we will.
Until next time,
