The slip fish Live Experience Recap
What felt long overdue, the slip fish live experience debuted for the first time ever as a headliner show in Downtown Buffalo. It was a clear Thursday night at Nietzsche’s, the stage was set, the crowd was hyped and the vibes were elite for an unforgettable night of live artistry. The homie Genecist, an absolute fire spitting lyrical powerhouse, kicked off the show and instantly got the crowd locked in. The big dawg CSaint and his electric guitar brought an undeniably infectious energy. Following CSaint was the legend, Just Kyle, who showed off his true mastery when it comes to performing live. I was proud to have all three acts on the stage that night; they each showed up with their own flavor, style of music, and authenticity.

As more heads kept trickling in, the time was nearing for the headliner of the evening. I could feel the energy throughout the building and I was in just the right headspace. The green room was hidden away above the venue. Quiet, with a light breeze flowing in from the window, a peaceful environment amongst the rage down below. I was listening to my favorite songs to get mentally prepared, you would’ve thought it was game 7 of the NBA Finals. A tranquil space is exactly what I need before unleashing the controlled chaos that my performance offers.
From that point on, as soon as I walked out looking fresher than a muhhfucka, I can’t speak much on what happened after that. I pretty much black out during my sets, in the coolest sober way possible. I leave everything I have out there on stage and it’s where slip fish really comes alive. A lot of people view my performance style & energy as a natural gift, and truthfully, I see it the same way. I just go out there, be myself, and it seems to organically resonate with the audience.
Through my eyes on stage, the crowd had incredible energy. I could hear lyrics being yelled back at me and see people movin’ n’ groovin’, it was super dope. I was feeding off of their energy as much as they were feeding off mine. I even got an authentic “ENCORE!” chant, which is an indescribable feeling as an artist!! I’m eternally thankful.
You already know my guy Rooftop Tommy was in the building with swagger on a mili all night. Homie was running around looking like Inspector Gadget with all his cameras, capturing photos and video of the whole evening. My guy Roobxcube held us down on the 1’s & 2’s and had our tracks dialed in. I was also very happy with the visual appearance of the evening, shoutout to Heather who was the lighting & sound engineer for the night. Biiiig lighting guy over here. We had a merch booth set up that debuted our brand new aquatic inferno tees, pins, and other accessories. After the show I was able to chop it up with some fans, sling some merch, and take a few pictures, you know, typical rockstar shit. For a night I never wanted to end, it was clear that my next show needs to be on a Friday or Saturday and mayyybe put together an after party, you feel me??
“on stage when I go full star mode, pull up to the show with a car load”
“It’s the reps that I take, won’t rest til I’m great, invest then I wait”
“…order my guys a hundred cannoliiiiiiiis”
Had to make sure Mac was in the room with us 🤞🏻
Last but not least, I want to sincerely thank everyone who showed up and made this night possible. To anyone who purchased a presale ticket or paid at the door, without you all, slip fish would still be just a crazy idea that I had years ago. It’s the raw energy from a live crowd that creates a euphoric energy that reminds me I’m on the right path. I genuinely can’t say it enough, thank you for showing up and rocking with me. This is only the beginning, trust that there are many more slip fish Live Experiences to come. 🙏🏻🐠
Cheers,
Slip Fish
